  • What is the Entourage Effect?
The Entourage Effect refers to the synergism that occurs as CDB works in harmony with the ECS (Endocannabinoid System) to boost the effectiveness of individual components. Therefore, CBD is an indispensable catalyst of optimal health.
  • Is CBD safe for animals?
Yes, but just as anything else ingested, you need to be careful of quality and side effects. The CBD market is flooded with products and it’s important that the product you administered to pets comes with a COA (certificate of analysis). This should be on the label via QR code linked to the report or have the batch number and referenced on the company’s website. The product should reflect the company’s claims to THC levels as well as the correct level of CBD in each bottle or chew. You should also be sure the product is organically grown in the US.
  • How does CBD work and differ from pharmaceuticals?
To understand how CBD works you will need to understand homeostasis and the endocannabinoid system. Without getting too scientific, CBD helps create balance in the body’s physiological functions to make sure everything is working in unison. This balance is called homeostasis. The more balanced the body is the healthier it is. 2 of the 5 systems that keeps the body healthy include the immune system and the nervous system. The immune system is the system which controls inflammation. It’s the system that heals and repairs damaged tissue, as well as defend itself against foreign invaders, such as viruses and bacteria. The nervous system which controls inhibition (relaxation) and excitation (excited) is the system that sends information from the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body and detects environmental changes. When these systems are not balanced it can lead to symptoms that we try to elevate with pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceuticals unfortunately only help with the symptoms to the problem of being imbalanced and create more symptoms with side effects. This becomes a domino effect and in some cases leads patients to take deferent medication for both the original symptoms and the side effects the medication creates. The Endocannabinoid System, ECS for short, is the system that affects most of the body’s vital functions and make sure they are working in unison. Some functions include sleep, pain, appetite, memory, mood, nervous system and immune system. Both humans and animals have an ECS. This explains why cannabinoids that are found in the hemp plant have a therapeutic effect on the bodies of humans and animals. 2 receptors associated ECS are CB1 and CB2 which are found in the immune and nervous systems. CBD binds to the receptors of the individual cells thought the body. CBD can enhance the signal transmitted from one cell to another naturally bring the imbalanced body back to a balanced one.
